I have just finished my first year with Stella Maris Academy both serving on the board as well as being pastor at the St. John’s Campus. What a year it has been! I want to thank Jesse Murray, Julianne Blazevic, all of our teachers, faculty and staff, and those on our COVID task force for keeping our children in the schools of our academy all year long. I’d like to give a big thank you as well to all of our students and families in persevering during this difficult year! Without the cooperation and hard work of our students and families we wouldn’t have had such a successful year. Stella Maris Academy has done an incredible job offering a virtual option for education while maintaining onsite education all year long! I think this is one reason for our increased enrollment this year.
Speaking of enrollment, our numbers for next year are looking great! With families at different levels of the application process for Stella Maris, there are currently 509 students for next year. This is great news! As our numbers continue to grow, we get to share the excellence in Catholic education that Stella Maris offers with more and more families.
I am looking forward to my new role as Board Chair, and I would like to thank the outgoing Board Chair, Bob Lisi, for his excellent leadership. I look forward to working with our new SMA President, Andrew Hilliker, along with the rest of the board as we will begin High School education in the fall of 2022 which is an exciting endeavor.
Know of my prayers for all of you as we begin our summer. Enjoy your time with your families. I look forward to another great school year next fall.
