My name is Deacon Trevor Peterson and I am a seminarian studying for our diocese. I am currently finishing my last year (actually only one semester to go!!) of seminary and planning to be ordained priest in June of this year! I was born and raised in Detroit Lakes, MN. After graduating high school in 2000, I went straight to the workforce, working multiple jobs. In 2005, I moved to Waite Park (St. Cloud) and went to college for a music business/sound tech degree. While attending college, I worked full-time in order to pay rent and receive health and dental insurance, and was a sound technician for several bands. In 2009, I was promoted, which led me to Duluth. While I was in Duluth, I became a member of St. John’s parish and worked. It was in 2011 when I first joined seminary. I went and received my undergraduate at St. Mary’s University in Winona and went to Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (located on campus). I did discern (exited) out of seminary in 2014 but finished my philosophy degree and graduated from SMU in 2015. I moved to Rochester, MN, where I worked as a realtor and drove school bus, then city bus. In 2017, I felt that God was calling me back to seminary, and after a nice visit with Bishop Sirba, I re-entered seminary. I currently go to Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul. It is hard to believe that it was ten years since I first entered seminary. It had many blessings and challenges throughout the journey but was well worth it. I am anxious to finish school and be ordained a priest for the Diocese of Duluth. I am looking forward to serving the people of this diocese in the future.
